Using Brand Editorial Marketing to launch a brand in a new location

Need to raise awareness of your brand in a new location (or an old one)? Smart leveraging of the social media followings of existing local businesses can give you huge reach at a tiny cost…

Having recently opened a showroom in Bath – their first outside of London – sofa.com wanted to raise local awareness of the brand and help drive early footfall.

We used the sofa.com blog and leveraged local non-competing businesses to gain maximum relevant social media visibility at minimal cost.

For a post ‘The 10 Comfiest Places to Sit in Bath’ we collaborated with nine local businesses, galleries and organisations, including VisitBath tourist information, selected in part for their presence on social media.

Each of these businesses signed up to the idea, contributed images and shared the final post on social media.

The result was that thanks to the collaboration, the final post had a total Facebook reach of over 50,000 users, and 67,000 relevant Twitter followers – a highly cost-effective way to launch locally on social media, as well as create goodwill with local referring businesses.
